Paint Shop Pro Photo X2
I just got it. It was a spur-of-the-moment purchase, based on a good in-store deal (30% off with membership deal and dickering with the store manager).
A friend of mine uses an earlier version and likes it. She designs websites and is learning dSLR photography. (I've been teaching her.)
I'm Photoshop-bred, so this program is almost blasphemous to use. *lol* It's more complex than I would have thought it to be and is sufficient for most lay people's needs. I posted a photo manip that I made with it in the Gallery.

It's come a long way, from what I can tell about its earlier versions. I heard that PSP X3 will be out soon. Naturally . . . I just got X2.
As with Adobe products, the key to giving PSP extra punch is using plug-ins. I added more than 30 to the program and am having fun with them. Here are some URLs for freeware downloads that work with X2:
